Trailer
I'm currently editing a new trailer for the film. The old one can be found here: http://www.imdb.com/video/wab/vi3042312729/
Fertilization, conception and birth
The idea for the film was conceived on a train going from Stavanger to Oslo in June, 2006.
The film was from that moment on in development, up until september 2008, when it was shot.
The film was completed on May 10th, 2009.
About the film
"Krantsid" is a film about freedom and how it's never "free".
It's about trying to fit in when you can't because of your physical attributes.
And it's about the extreme consequences that may take effect as a result of
frustration and lack of understanding..
Synopsis
Nazeeya is a 24 year old immigrant girl from the Caucasus who lives in Estonia with her grandfather Jassim and younger brother Emir.
Nazeeya has one day to find a man to marry in Estonia, before her grandfather Jassim, a devout Muslim man, marries her away to his
friend back home. Distraught, she meets a train-conductor Mihkel who agrees to help her. Suddenly, freedom seems just one step away.
Nazeeya’s little brother Emir, however, doesn’t find his place in Estonian society at all. Being beaten up every day, he wants to leave badly.
Emir’s desperate attempt to make Nazeeya leave with him and his grandfather, will have severe consequences for everyone involved.
